Dear followers,

I would like to know if you have suggestions about changes you would like to see in here. At the moment, I'm feeling the need of a change not only in contents but also on the template. I'm studying possibilities but totally open for ideas.

You can leave me messages or email me: interiorsporn(at)gmail.com

Thank you in advance!:D

So… ideas?

I don't use this tumblr to express any opinions about personal interests or concerns but I think this institutional poster deserves your attention and I believe you'll be sensitive to it because you know how important home is.

In interior design and decoration there's a lot of focus on what's perfect aesthetically, on what's visually pleasing and I would hope, also functional. Most of us have to work with what we have, with what we can afford and look at the potential of our resources. Images of nice interiors should inspire you and not making you feel inadequate because you can't afford to have what you see on magazines or blogs. But you care about interiors because you know how important is to have a home, a bedroom, a roof over your head that, like Le Corbusier wrote one day, works as a "machine for living in". Having a place to stay, to think, to eat, to sleep, to have a shower is a basic need. Use your imagination and try to think how it would be if you didn't have one, how would you go to school or find a job without proper hygiene or a night well slept. A home has a legal and social dimension too and without one your emotional wellbeing is on the line.

Homelessness is the absence of a place to live. This is a misunderstood subject but if you let go of being judgemental you'll discover that homeless people can be whole families, people who can't afford to pay a rent because they are unemployed (and after loosing the house it becomes harder and harder to find a job), some have health problems and others are running away from contexts of abuse. Economic and financial problems going on in the world tell us this issue will get worse and worse and worse. But we can help even with small gestures.

People matter and our individualistic society forgets that in favour of easy distractions that promise quick happiness based on consumerism. It's nice to have a cool duvet cover but it will be more meaningful to offer some comfort by giving a blanket or a warm beverage to a homeless on a cold night. And while you may not solve the complex issue of homelessness you're starting to understand the problem instead of living like it has nothing to do with your life.

Look for information in your country, consider volunteering, inform yourself. Be part of the solution.
